It's time to stop going on "DIETS"
Words have power.
How you talk about something is what gives it meaning, substance and a leg to stand on.
- If you're constantly using negative language then it will be negative.
- If you're constantly using positive language then it will be positive.
It really is as simple as that.
Which is why we HATE the word "Diet".
It has the word DIE in it.
What's the first thing you think of when you hear DIEt?
Not something good, right?
Maybe...
Dying from starvation?
Even though that is not the truth, it doesn't matter, because how you feel about something is more important than the truth.
While going on a diet is not going to make you DIE, it can feel like it.
Which is probably why people avoid going on one at all costs.
But right now is the beginning of March.
Winter is coming to a close, spring is right around the corner, and you know what happens in Spring right?
CUTTING SEASON.
So... what's the best new habit that you can instill in yourself starting today?
Starting new healthy eating habits!
It's not about going on a DIE-t, it's about going on a LIVE-it.
(Ok, that was corny.)
But we're being serious here.
By focusing on adopting healthy eating habits starting at the beginning of March, you are setting yourself up to reap the rewards come summer.
We don't care who you are, how old you are, or where you are from...
- 18 years old or 65 years old
- Male or female
- Fat or fit
- Rich or poor
- Right or Left
...EVERYONE should adopt more healthy eating habits this year.
To get you started, we're going to tell you one eating habit you can start doing TODAY that will have a massive impact on your overall health & wellbeing.
The best part?
You don't need to change WHAT you're eating at all (yet.)
You just need to change WHEN you're eating.
It's called Intermittent Fasting or IF.
IF is when you are only allowed to eat during a certain "time window" each day.
Outside of that "time window" you are only allowed to drink water, unflavored tea, and coffee. No calories are allowed to be consumed. This is the "fasting" part.
The most common and easiest version of IF to get into is the 16:8 protocol.
It's simple.
You are only allowed to eat during an 8 hour window each and everyday---all other times, for 16 hours, you're fasting.
16:8 IF Example:
- You are allowed to eat from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
- You must fast from 8:01 PM - 11:59 AM.
That's it!
The craziest thing is that by adopting a IF healthy eating habit your body will literally start to change before your very eyes---even if you don't change the food you're eating!
Without getting too deep into it, IF works because you are:
- Letting your body fully process the food you eat
- Letting your body take a break from constant digestion
- Letting your body turn on the fat burning process
- Typically eating less calories because you don't randomly snack anymore
It really is as simple as that.
All you need to do is set a 8-hour time window for when you're allow to eat.
Then eat to your hearts content during those times.
That will put you on the track to success.
Next week you can focus on what you're eating, but right now focus on when you're eating.
One step at a time, one day at a time, that's how we always keep moving forward.
