No One Is Coming To Save You
Hello, Gold Coast Fam!
Long time, no see!
I come to you today with a story and a pledge.
Recently I re-read a great book called "Ikigai" by Sebastian Marshall.
It's one of my favorites.
The first time I read it was back in the beginning of 2018. It really helped me back then so I began re-reading yearly and man, every time I do I feel like it helps to reinvigorate my soul.
Like this passage below:
"First off, no one is coming to save you...
The fact of the matter is, nobody cares about your success as much as you do. Maybe your Mom, maybe.
But really now, nobody cares about your success as much as you. To work with talented and driven people, you gotta show you belong in that crowd, which means self-starting to some extent.
You're unlikely to luck into a random mentor until you start doing interesting and engaging things.
Once you start doing lots of interesting and engaging things, then it becomes a lot easier to meet and connect with people...
That's the bad news---there's no magical solution or someone coming to save you.
You're going to have to pick up the torch and scratch and claw forwards with it for a while before someone else takes it from you and helps you run the relay."
-- Sebastian Marshall "Ikigai" Loc. 2237
Every time I see that passage I’m struck by its bare-bones honesty about the world.
Nobody is coming to save you.
While many people will come to different conclusions about how they feel about that fact, the simple realization is that it is up to you.
What do you want to achieve? What do you want to do?
It's up to you to decide---and it's up to you to follow through with it.
For example...
Information on dieting, information of training, information on building muscle—it's a dime a dozen now-a-days.
With Google, YouTube, Instagram, Reddit, Twitter, etc; people have all of the knowledge of humanity in the palms of their hands.
Finding information on what you need to do and how you need to do it is widely available and free to nearly everyone on earth.
But that's not the problem here.
The problem isn't finding out WHAT to do.
The problem is actually DOING it.
Over the past 6 months I’ve let myself go, like a lot.
I’ve been so obsessed with building a new business that I’ve let everything else fall to the wayside…
- I’m 10 lbs overweight
- Don’t go to the gym consistently
- My sleep routine is shot
- Haven’t written an email/blog post in 6 months
All of my healthy and productive habits have been thrown to the wind in the pursuit of this new business opportunity.
And while it has been a wild and crazy ride these past 6 months the truth is…
No One is Coming To Save Me.
So I decided to do it myself.
Over the past week I’ve reset my sleep schedule so that I am going to bed at a consistent time, waking up at a consistent time, and making sure I get my 7-8 hours of rest a night.
I restarted a workout routine and am going to the gym 4-5 days per week + making sure I go for 30 minute walks in the morning before I start working.
Most importantly, I’m taking the time to make sure that I work on Gold Coast Health again and help grow it into the life-changing company I know it can be.
It’s not easy to do these things and it takes a lot of hard work, but at the end of the day, YOU are the only one in the world who can do it:
- You need to save yourself
- You need to push yourself
- You need to succeed for yourself
And once you start doing these things, a magical thing happens…
Other people notice.
Other people reach out with questions or advice.
And you start to build a tribe of successful, driven, motivated people around you that push you to become better and that push you to do more.
But that comes AFTER you've already made the decision to save yourself.
After you've already begun putting in the work.
After you've shown people what you can do.
Not before.
I think it's good to remind ourselves of that every once in a while.
Especially when things start getting tough.
Nobody is coming to save you.
So you might as well do it yourself.
Your friend,
- GoldSteve
P.S. Nobody might be coming to save you, but Vitality is here to help save you in the fight against excess estrogen.
The truth of the matter is that now-a-days many men have estrogen levels that are simply way too high.
This is due to a variety of factors such as the environment you live in, the food you eat, the drinks you drink, excessive body fat, lack of exercise, the complete feminization of our culture and society, etc.
The problem with being surrounded by estrogen is that once estrogen levels start going up in a man’s body, it's very difficult to bring them back down.
That's where VITALITY comes in.
What that means is that it helps to stop the creation of new estrogen in men!
Too much estrogen in males is a big problem often linked with, mood swings, man-boobs, erectile dysfunction, trouble sleeping, excessive weight gain, and much more.
As a man living in the modern world today you need to take steps to protect yourself from the evils of things such as excess estrogen building up in your body.
Vitality can help you with that.
But first, you need to make a decision…
Are you willing to Save Yourself?
